Are you done with your Christmas shopping yet?
If not, perhaps you're still stuck on what to buy. Not to worry; our old pal Reddy Kilowatt, your trusty electric servant, is here with some gift suggestions circa late 1940s – early 1950s to put a spark in your holiday shopping effort.
All of the ads below ran in the Lorain Journal. Note that Reddy was kind of lamp-happy the first few years. But when he moved up to major appliances, Reddy was always ready to switch brands if need be.

Pretty safe to say Reddy is a single man (?) if he thinks that an Ironrite Ironer is a good Christmas gift for the Mrs. And also that he has unrealistic expectations about marriage.
I agree with Ken…in today’s coin the iron would be over $3,300 bucks. Ho-Ho-Holy Cow!
Todd
I once asked Mom what she'd do if Dad gave her and iron for a present. She replied, "Murder him with it." Dad nodded. "And I'd deserve it."
I was wondering when ol' Reddy would make an appearance. I know he's a favorite, and far be it for me to cast aspersions on the personality of others, but I think he's enabler first-class.
If you look closely Reddy was only promoting and offering lamps. In the last ad he was just standing there while the lady was actually offering the blender and the toaster, etc.I don't think Reddy was the male chauvinist pig that everyone is making him out to be.I'd actually like to hang out with a dude like Reddy.
The Westinghouse Laundromat is quite nice looking for 1953. Here is a better look at one from the Washing Machine Museum.
