A lakefront camping resort with an extensive list of recreational opportunities was a concept that was ahead of its time, although it was ultimately abandoned.
With the park idea dead, the focus apparently shifted towards the development of an exclusive lakefront community, whose residents could enjoy the beach and other amenities of the lakes.
Today, the Shady Lake and Lake Haven subdivisions still provide a stunningly beautiful, New England-like setting for their residents.
