The ad is kind of amusing in that it acknowledges what we all secretly admit: that finding a gift for Dear Old Dad probably did come down to the last minute.
I can’t remember what (if anything) we would buy Dad for his special day; he didn’t wear a tie to work, so I know that particular cliché was not his present.
Anyway, the not-too-diverse faces in the ad are interesting, in that at least one of them seems to resemble a popular character actor from the 1960s who appeared in countless TV shows and commercials: Edward Andrews (below). Can you find his lookalike in the ad?

I remember that Hills.I remember getting a big pretzel and a Coke at the little food stand everytime I'd go there.Now that area of Lorain is pretty scroungy.Big drug area.Back in the 60s you had the Steel Mill on 28th St.A shipyard on the eastside.Plus all the little tool and die shops up and down 28th Street.Plus the Ford plant on Baumhaurt Rd.And of all things a toy factory on Broadway(Mascon Toys).....Plus people could actually work at a store like Hills and make a living....And buy a house....And live comfortably.Now Lorain is nothing but drug infested houses.Empty businesses all over town.Ford is gone.The steel mill is gone.Thew Shovel is gone.The shipyard is gone.Hills,Gaylords,K-Mart,Ontarios,Clarkins....All gone.Now all Lorain has is dollar stores for all the people to shop at that have to work at 3 jobs just to make ends meet......I think the good old days were pretty good....To bad there isn't a time machine for us to go back in time....I'd especially love to see my grandparents once again.
Out of all the stores that have come and gone over the years including Big Wheel, Ames, Gold Circle, Clarkins, Kmart, and Zayre, I miss Hills the most. They had great prices and I always remember the employees being happy.
