Merry Christmas from Kline's

Here's three Christmas-themed vintage ads for Kline's, the well-remembered Downtown Lorain department store.

The first ad (below), a playful one promoting Berkshire stockings, ran in the Lorain Journal on December 20, 1955.

The second ad (below) dates from December 24, 1956 and features a very Disneyesque Santa Claus.
And lastly, here's one from late December 1961 (below).
Look for my special series about the history of Kline's shortly after the holidays!

Kline's was one of my favorite places to shop. It had 2 entrances - one on Broadway and one on 6th Street...

Happy Holidays, Dan...

Was the entrance off of 6th Street the one with steps heading to the lower level? I have a vague memory of a store entrance like that but not sure what store it was.

No that entrance was off Broadway. Went down to childrens clothes. It was where I got my Brownie uniform. Ted Jacobs had stairs in the center of the store and Smith and G's had an elevator

I got outfitted for school at Kline's once, actually having someone go ver me with a tape measure and such, just like the Grone Folx.
